It was fittingly around the dinner table, over a bottle of wine, that the pair decided to create a project of their own, one that would unite their complementary talents and Austrian heritage forever. From that moment, Sohm & Kracher was born.
Internationally respected as one of the world’s leading sommeliers, Aldo Sohm is best known for his work in fine dining and for his instinctive understanding of what makes a wine truly enjoyable at the table. Gerhard Kracher, meanwhile, comes from one of Austria’s most celebrated winemaking families and brings generations of expertise from Burgenland, where precision, purity and balance are at the heart of production. Together, they combine hospitality, craftsmanship and a modern vision of Austrian wine.
Today, Sohm & Kracher are recognised for their expressive and characterful wines made from Grüner Veltliner, Austria’s signature grape variety. Their wines are lively, vibrant and refreshingly precise, offering crisp fruit, fine minerality and remarkable drinkability.
