The jewel in our crown, Lafite-Rothschild has been on a winning streak recently thanks to the innovation introduced by Domaines Barons de Rothschild Chairwoman and CEO Saskia de Rothschild along with her youthful team. Over the past decade, the vines have perfectly adapted to the new viticultural practices, and are now fully equipped to withstand the heat, while still deliver some of the lowest alcohol contents in the region (well below 14%). The Chateau’s reputation as one of the worlds most loved estates is perennially confirmed by its positioning as the Top Bordeaux Estate in the Liv-Ex Power 100 classification of most in-demand wines of the year. From the sauve Grand Vin to the sister properties Duhart-Millon and Evangile, the “Lafite Stables” are a must have in any vintage, and particularly so in the exceptional 2022.
Commendable work was achieved with the Second Vins, Carruades de Lafite and Moulin de Duhart. All were team favourites for early approachability and pure epicurean pleasure.

” The 2022 Carruades de Lafite is a real showstopper. I don’t remember tasting a Carruades quite like the 2022, a wine that combines the richness of the year with tons of supporting structure. Super-ripe red-fleshed fruit, blood orange, mint, cinnamon and rose petal all race across the palate, supported by bright citrus-driven acids that keep the flavors vibrant. I can’t wait to see how this turns out. ”
