Découvrir: The Insiders Case Selection

Our joy of wine stems from a group of passionate, intuitive growers which we have the privilege to represent. Their wines are normally only available on a private allocation basis, upon release each year; gaining popularity and scarcity as time marches on. This case provides the perfect introduction to discover seriously superb wine; bottles which make us shake our head with disbelief every time we pull a cork.

We urge you to try this limited run mixed case; our first ever in fact!

CHAMPAGNE
NV “L’Ouverture” Blanc de Noirs by Champagne Frédéric Savart
Tiny organically-farmed parcels in the villages of Ecueil and Villers-aux-Noeuds. L’Ouverture is a brilliant three-vintage blanc de noir fermented in a combination of stainless steel and neutral barrels, before aging under cork.

WHITE
2016 Meursault “Le Tesson” by Jean-Philippe Fichet
Meursault’s finest lieu-dit “Le Tesson”. Low yields are achieved in the vineyards through severe pruning, and in the cellar, JP believes in natural yeasts and long élevage (18 months min) without lees stirring in a combination of 350 and 500l barrels (no more than 30% new oak) for the first 12 months, followed by 6 months in stainless steel tanks so as not to tire the wines and preserve freshness and precision.

2020 “Ômar” Viognier VdF Domaine Jules Desjourneys
Viognier grapes carefully cultivated and cut al dente in the southern Beaujolais, in the Pierres Dorées region, by a Wine Source team favourite winemaker – Fabien Duperray. Farming is biodynamic, yields are very low, and his main focus is making the most balanced, age-worthy wines possible.

RED
2020 Beaujolais Domaine Jules Desjourneys
Selected heritage parcels of Gamay in the Southern vineyards of Saint-Véran, by winemaking legend Fabien Duperray, Not dissimilar similar to a Rhone wine as the vineyard lies halfway between burgundy and the Rhone valley. Expect good concentration, rich and ripe with violets and spice; fine tannins. Total Production: Only 2,200 cases.

2017 Beaune “La Blanchisserie” by François d’Allaines
He believes in ripe grapes and long ageing to reveal all the finesse and magic of this Burgundy terroir. His hallmark? Character, powerful and elegant, authentic and easy to drink.

2014 Château Quinault l’Enclos
16Ha walled vineyard in St-Emilion; hand picked certified organic grapes vinified by the winemaking team from Château Cheval Blanc. 69% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Cabernet Franc. 2014 was the first vintage to use larger 500-litre barrels and also the first to include the newly planted Cabernet Sauvignon to lend structure.
