Château Cheval Blanc, Saint-Émilion

Château Cheval Blanc, Saint-Émilion

The history of this Chateau dates back to 1832, when it was a family-owned estate, until its acquisition by Bernard Arnault in 1998. As of 2009, it became a part of the LVMH Group. Currently under Pierre Lurton’s administration, one of the most talented winemakers in Bordeaux, Cheval Blanc owns the most modern facilities in the whole of the Bordeaux area. Cheval Blanc’s vineyards are planted with 39% Merlot, 57% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon on a variety of soils that include gravel, clay, and sand.

Wine Source are extremely proud to be Château Cheval Blanc’s top UK partner and we are delighted to be able to offer our clients exclusive access to the Château’s cellars. This year we have not only been allocated great vintages like 2000, 2005, 2006 and 2011 – all wonderful vintages for Cheval – but also some phenomenally rare large format bottles. In addition, we are able to offer the excellent second wine, Petit Cheval, also in formats of a size it is usually impossible to acquire.
