In 1985, Catherine Péré-Vergé bought Château Montviel, a vineyard located in the northwest of the appellation in Pomerol. She began an extensive program of modernization of the property, before embarking on other ambitious projects that made her an indispensable part of the estate’s terroir. Today, the family also owns Châteaux Gay and La Violette, two locally respected but widely underestimated names. Catherine Péré-Vergé has also ventured into the neighboring appellation, Lalande-de-Pomerol producing the stunning Château La Gravière and Moulin La Gravière. Catherine Péré Vergé has shown her visionary character with a good dose of perfectionism. Henri Parent fully intends to continue the objectives set in place in 1985 "because Pomerol is a jewel that obliges us to go beyond our limits"
