Forts De Latour 1990: A Classic Worth Revisiting Now

Forts de Latour used to offer great price/value before demand rocketed between 2008 and 2011, with prices to match.

We recently opened a bottle of Forts de Latour 1990 in a restaurant where the sommelier made a point of decanting it, after which it revealed a beautiful perfume of plum and cedar.

The colour of garnet with an amber border showed the wine has reached its full maturity, and the palate was long and earthy, with surprising acidity - the wine was very much alive!

If you have some of this wine, do drink up; it is a classic worth revisiting.
