Having just posted some notes about the Forts de Latour 1990, it reminded us of how nice was our experience of Pavillon Rouge 1990. The vintage was legendary for Ch. Margaux which scored the perfect 100 points. Pavillon Rouge 1990 is probably more mature in its life than Forts de Latour, it is however showing such a nice blend of tannins, silky, earthy and with a lingering finale that last for seconds that you do not wish to spoil even with the best of food.
Unlike the Forts this one cannot wait another 4-5 years, but for the amateurs of the style of Margaux it will be perfect now.
