We tasted yesterday a bottle of Palmer 1982 from a private cellar.
The cork was fragile, perhaps time to drink up or think about a professional recorking job.
The robe was dark garnet, clearly not showing its age, the wine was exhuding aromas of black cherry and liquorice, it was clearly old, but definitely alive.
Having tried several 1982 in the last 12 months, the Palmer was clearly in the upper bracket in terms of quality. This vintage is sumptuous but they all share one trait: it is time to drink them now.
So time to browse your cellars and make space in the nicest way .
